“I’m Fine.” (The Most Convincing Lie We Tell Ourselves)

“I’m fine.”

It’s practically a reflex at this point.

Even if:

• Your mind hasn’t shut up since 2003

• Your ‘relaxation’ routine involves wine and doom-scrolling

• You’re exhausted but somehow still managing everything for everyone

I work with women who look fine but secretly feel like they’re unraveling. There’s tension. Pressure. A background hum of unease that never seems to let up.

Most people think this is just modern life, but it’s not. It’s what happens when we misunderstand where our experience is really coming from.

That overwhelmed, restless, slightly-on-the-edge feeling isn’t because of your to-do list, your job, or even your mother-in-law’s texts. It’s just your mind on overdrive. And it doesn’t have to be this way.

There’s a way to quiet the noise (without adding more to your plate). And no, it’s not meditation or mindset tricks. You don’t need to do more.

You don’t need to change your life. You don’t need more rituals, or better time management.

It starts with seeing how your mind actually works. That your feelings aren’t problems. Your thoughts aren’t facts. And your wellbeing isn’t broken – it’s just been drowned out by all the mental noise.

When you understand how your mind actually works, things settle, without you needing to make that happen. Think snowglobe. What’s the best way to get the snow to settle? Stop shaking it and put it down.

We innocently agitate our minds in a similar way and innocently think more agitation will solve whatever ‘problem’ it is we’re focused on.

If you’ve been “fine” for a while, and you’ve heard something new here, get in touch and we can have an unpressured conversation that might be the start of something different.
